Hey everyone! I’m sorry that this is a few days late, but I’ve been pretty busy. I just started my summer classes, and I’m trying to get back into the school rhythm while balancing everything else. Anyway, enough with the excuses. Here’s everything that I tried during the spring that didn’t work out for me. I recognize that while these products did not work for me, they may work for you.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana: I got this highlighter because of the YouTube hype. Some people were even comparing it to high-end highlighters. I don’t think so. First of all, it’s incredibly powdery and relatively matte. I could have bought an eye shadow with a satin finish and it would have worked better. I haven’t used the product very much, yet it immediately began crumbling at the edges and the writing on the package is rubbing off. Shortly after taking the photo of the crumbling edges, half of the pan fell apart. How could you even take this in a makeup bag?

Physicians Formula Organic Wear FakeOut Mascara in Black: I really enjoy fiber mascaras, so I thought I’d give this one a shot. This mascara really doesn’t do much of anything for my lashes. I wouldn’t say that it’s great with length or volume, even though it’s suppose to give you the look of false lashes. It’s hard to apply because of the leaf-shaped cap, which is hard to grip. The brush is huge and hard to use on my small eyes. It’s a dry formula, yet it smears under the eyes after a couple hours of wear. It’s just an absolute no.

Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm in Light/Medium:  I thought this concealer would be similar to the Revlon Photoready Concealer, which I love. It’s not similar whatsoever. It’s a really dry formula, like the old-school stick concealers. After an hour or so of wear, it has creased, dried out, and looked ashy. And a heads up to anyone actually interested in buying this product: it runs dark. I’m about an NC35 at the moment, and the Light/Medium shade is spot on for me, even though I usually wear some variation of Medium or Honey in most other concealers.

Flower BB Cream in BB2: This is bad on quite a few levels. The shade selection is really poor, with four shades in total that are all warm-toned. BB2 is way too light for me. It would probably match someone who is an NC20, but BB3 would match someone who is an NC45. It’s also really hard to blend because the formula is so dry. I do really like the look of this when first applied to the face, but the lasting power is awful. After a few hours of wear, it collected in the corners of my nose, got patchy, and got a cracked look in areas where I had more oil.

Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation in Medium: I wanted to love this foundation so badly. It’s a cream formula, so it’s thicker than other liquid foundations, but it isn’t a mousse. I just don’t think the formula was right for me. I have oily skin, which is worse during the colder months. And spring, where I live, is cold. Not to be gross, but my oil was breaking down the product very quickly. It was collecting around my nose and my forehead looked like an odd mix of oil and foundation. It wasn’t pretty.

Bath & Body Works Superfruit 2 in 1 Body Scrub + Wash in Rome Honeysuckle Amore (Signature Collection): My biggest complain is going to sound like a really dumb one. When I use this scrub in the shower, it never washes down the drain. It hangs around in my bathtub for days and days. Even if I clean the tub, it still hangs around, so when I take a bath, all I can feel are little pieces of grit. I’ve never had another scrub do this before. Now, if this scrub were really exfoliating and did a nice job, I wouldn’t mind. But the fact is, I don’t see any results and I have a bunch of grit in my bathtub. On a positive note, I do really like the scent. It kind of smells like an expensive perfume.

Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Acne Blemish Clearing Facial Towelettes: I don’t really know what else to say beside the fact that these towelettes reek. These smell like old, musty house. And the scent lingers on the face too. I could honestly smell my own face, even hours after using this product. I don’t know how they work for acne, because I don’t even want to get them near my face.
